About
About GyDate
GyDate is a dating and chat platform for gay and bisexual men aged 18 and over. It runs as an Android app and as a web app, and it is built around three things: a profile you can actually read, a way to find people nearby, and one-to-one chat. This page sets out what the product is, what it is not, and who is behind it.
What GyDate is
A place to make a profile, look at other profiles, and talk to one person at a time. That is the whole product. There is no anonymous room, no stranger roulette, and no algorithmic compatibility score — we do not have one and we will not pretend otherwise.
You sign in with Google, which means there is no separate password to leak. Creating a profile, browsing Discover and sending and receiving messages are free. Premium adds optional audio calls, advanced Discover filters and an ad-free experience.
- For gay and bisexual men, 18+ only
- Android app and web app, one account across both
- Profiles, Discover and one-to-one chat — free
- Premium: optional audio calls, advanced filters, no ads
- Block and report on every profile and every conversation
- The app in detail — what you can do, and what Premium adds
- How chat works — and how it differs from an anonymous chat room
- Nearby discovery — what distance can and cannot tell you
What GyDate is not
We would rather be clear about scope than capture searches the product cannot serve. GyDate matches individuals, so there is no couples mode and no couples-seeking feature. There are no public chat rooms. There is no video calling and no voice-message feature — calling is audio only, and it is a Premium feature.
We do not publish member counts, local headcounts or match statistics. If you see a number like that attributed to us somewhere, it did not come from us.
- Who this is built for — how a gay men's app sits within wider LGBTQ+ dating
How safety works here
Block and report sit on the profile and inside the conversation, so leaving never requires a negotiation. Reports go to the safety team, and patterns across accounts are how networks of fake profiles get found — which is why reporting is worth the ten seconds even when it feels pointless.
The rules are public rather than buried: what is and is not allowed, how under-18 concerns and child sexual abuse and exploitation are handled, what data the product stores, and how to delete your account without emailing anyone.
- Community guidelines — the rules everyone agrees to
- Child safety standards — our 18+ policy and CSAE stance
- Privacy policy — what is stored, and why
- Delete your account — a real one-click path, not a support ticket
The guides on this site
Alongside the app we publish a free library of practical guides for gay men — profiles, first messages, safety, scams, first dates and relationships. They are written in-house and they are not gated, not sponsored, and not written to sell Premium.
How that content is produced, reviewed and corrected is set out separately, in plain language.
- Our editorial policy — how the guides are written, reviewed and corrected
- Browse the guides — 34 guides across dating, chat, safety, apps and relationships
Who runs it and how to reach us
GyDate is operated from a registered office in New Delhi, India, and is available worldwide. For account questions, safety reports, billing or corrections, email support@gydate.com — that address is monitored by the team, and it is the right place to flag anything wrong on this site.
- Contact us — support, safety and billing
- Terms of service — the agreement you accept by using GyDate
- Refunds and cancellation — how to stop a Premium renewal
Frequently asked questions
Is GyDate free?
Yes to the parts that matter: creating a profile, browsing Discover and sending and receiving messages cost nothing. Premium is optional and adds audio calls, advanced Discover filters and an ad-free experience.
Who can use GyDate?
Men aged 18 and over who are interested in other men. The age floor is enforced in the product, not just stated in a footer, and under-18 concerns are handled under our child safety standards.
Does GyDate work on iPhone?
There is an Android app and a web app. The web app runs in any modern mobile browser, including on iPhone, with the same account and the same conversations.
How do I report someone?
Block and report are on the profile and inside the conversation. Reports go to the safety team. You do not need to justify a block to anyone.
How do I delete my account?
From the delete account page, without emailing support first. What is retained afterwards and why is described in the privacy policy.
