Essential cookies
Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. Without them, you cannot sign in, access your profile, send messages, or complete a premium purchase. These cookies do not require consent under most privacy laws, but we disclose them here for transparency.
Analytics cookies (optional)
We may use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with our website in aggregate — for example, which pages are most visited and where users encounter errors. This data is not used to sell advertising profiles and is not linked to your dating activity for third-party ad targeting. You can opt out via browser settings or by not accepting optional cookies in our consent banner.
Third-party cookies
When you use certain features, third parties may set their own cookies on your device:

- Agora: When you initiate an audio call on web — session tokens for real-time communication

Mobile app (Android)
The GyDate Android app does not use browser cookies. Instead, it uses:
- Firebase Authentication tokens stored securely on your device
- FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) tokens for push notifications
- Local app storage for cached profile and chat data

Managing your cookie preferences
Cookie consent banner
When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner appears at the bottom of the screen. Clicking Accept stores your choice in localStorage and dismisses the banner. You can read full details by clicking Learn more.
Browser settings
Most browsers allow you to:
- View cookies stored on your device
- Block all cookies or only third-party cookies
- Delete cookies when you close the browser
- Browse in "private" or "incognito" mode
Instructions vary by browser. Common links:
Note: Blocking essential cookies will prevent Google Sign-In and core GyDate features from working. You will not be able to access chat, discover, or your profile until essential cookies are enabled.
Clearing stored consent
To see the cookie banner again, clear your browser's localStorage for our site or delete the gydate-cookie-consententry in your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage).
Do Not Track signals
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no universal industry standard for responding to DNT signals. Currently, GyDate does not respond differently to DNT signals, but we limit analytics to aggregate, non-ad-targeting purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new features, integrate new services, or when legal requirements change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date. Material changes may also be communicated via our website cookie banner.
